Whether you're meeting friends, spending the afternoon with family or simply looking for a good excuse to get out of the house, Pie & Pinot is ready to make your weekend a little more delicious.

What's on the Pie & Pinot Menu?

Two things, done well. This isn't a sprawling menu to agonise over — it's one great burger and one very drinkable red, chosen to go together and priced to make Saturday easy.

Two things, done well. One comforting pie and one carefully chosen glass of Pinot Noir, paired to make lunch easy.

Beef Bourguignon Pie

There's something about a proper pie that makes a weekend lunch feel complete.

Our Beef Bourguignon Pie brings a classic French-inspired dish to the table, offering the kind of comforting, hearty food that's made for taking your time over.

No complicated decisions. Just a satisfying lunch, a good glass of wine and nowhere you need to rush off to.

Würtzberg Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder)

And what better to enjoy alongside your pie than a glass of Pinot Noir?

For Pie & Pinot, we're pouring Weingut Würtzberg Spätburgunder 2022, a German Pinot Noir.

Spätburgunder is the German name for Pinot Noir, the grape famously associated with Burgundy in France.

Our wine team describes this one rather brilliantly:

“Like Burgundy Pinot Noir, but with better organisation and less pretension.”

It's a wine with character, and a lovely way to discover what Germany can do with one of the world's best-loved red grapes.

Why Pie & Pinot Works So Well

Beef Bourguignon and Pinot Noir are a natural match.

The richness of the pie calls for a red wine that can complement the dish without overwhelming it. Pinot Noir's freshness and typically lighter structure make it a brilliant partner for hearty, savoury food.

It's also a chance to try a grape you might already know in a slightly different setting.

If you've mainly enjoyed French Pinot Noir, German Spätburgunder is well worth exploring.

And at £20 for the pairing, it's an easy way to discover something new without making a big occasion out of it.
