Meet our Women in Wine

Melissa Genevieve Nelsen

Genevieve

Genevieve MCC was inspired by the creator’s passion for good quality Méthode Cap Classique. Founder, Melissa Genevieve Nelsen, pursued her passion into the winemaking industry to develop the beautiful Blanc de Blancs MCC we know today.

Chantal Gonet-Brégeon

Philippe Gonet

The winegrower's intention is there: to translate the pure beauty of the alliance of an exceptional subsoil and the vines which feed on its genius. Pierre is responsible for creating local wines, precise, delicate, defined, aesthetic champagnes, Chantal is the proud embassy of the vast world. They placed their steps in the light of a path drawn since 1830 in the heart of the Côte des Blancs in Champagne, Chantal and Pierre Gonet, brother and sister walk there in beauty today.

Joanna Schup

Winzer Familie Gregor Schup

Deep in the heart of the Austrian Wienerwald, in the little town of Guntramsdorf, lies Winzer Familie Gregor Schup. For over 300 years they’ve lived here, where Eastern-European climate meets warm and damp Atlantic air, learning to cultivate quality fruits from vines grown close to The Eichkogel mountain (just 367m above sea level). It is undoubtedly the Schup family’s respect and expertise, that makes their wines so palpably unique.

Militza and Lyubka Zikatanova

Villa Melnik

The owner, Nikola Zikatanov, was born in the village across from the winery, Kapatovo, in a family with long standing traditions in vine growing and winemaking. Together with his wife, Lyubka, he planted the vineyards and built the winery. They planted their vineyards with indigenous and international grape varieties with the clear mission to bring back the glory of the Melnik wine and to lead the Renaissance of the region.

Alix Vonderheyden

Château Monbrison

Château Monbrison is a family-owned estate in the heart of Margaux, tended by the Vonderheyden family since 1921. Their vineyards lie on deep gravel soils which naturally shape wines of subtlety and poise. The estate is known for thoughtful craftsmanship: small-scale, attentive, and dedicated to expressing Margaux’s graceful character rather than sheer power.

Alisa Jacobson

Turning Tides

Raised on California farmland and trained at UC Davis, AJ has built her career from the cellar floor to leading international winemaking teams before launching her own label in 2018. Today, she farms vineyards in Santa Ynez and Oregon, crafting wines shaped by ocean air, healthy soils and a light touch in the cellar. Her philosophy is simple: let the vineyard speak. Thoughtful, site-driven and quietly confident, exactly the kind of energy we love to celebrate at Humble Grape.

Rocio Marquez

Bodegas Robles

Few estates in Andalusia command the respect that Bodegas Robles has earned across two decades of committed organic production in Montilla-Moriles. At its helm is Rocío Márquez — oenologist, researcher, and international vinegar judge — whose academic formation and deep family roots in Andalusian wine culture bring both precision and passion to the cellar. The result is a range of wines that speak clearly of their terroir, their grape, and the hands that made them’.
