Spread your wings and let this big red whisk you up into the atmosphere. And if you are going to take flight, what better place to start than at one of South Africa's highest estates. With vines stretching up to 550m above sea level on steep slopes, everything has to be done by hand at the extremely eco friendly Bartinney. And you can taste the love and effort that has gone into this Cabernet Sauvignon.

Owner Rose Jordaan describes her wines as: wine made on a mountain, and that's no exaggeration. She repurchased the old family farm, situated precariously on the hellishly vertiginous slopes of the Helshoogte Pass, between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, in 2006 and has returned it to stunning form.
