Producer Spotlight:

Bartinney

Meet the mastermind behind the magic at Bartinney - Rose Jordaan, who swooped down in 2006 to repurchase the old family farm and return it to stunning form. Situated precariously on hellish vertiginous slopes of the Helshoogte Pass, between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, this is one of South Africa’s highest estates.

The vines stretch up to 550m above sea level on the steep slopes, so everything must be done by hand. However, necessity is not the only reason they choose to work this way, as they’re eco-friendly enthusiasts too, prioritising the restoration of neglected slopes and providing habitats for a wide array of organisms. With 50% of Bartinney’s power being generated through solar, and biological pest control being used, rather than pesky pesticides, you can be sure that the wine you’re sipping is pure goodness.

Now, how could we forget their award-winning line up?! Fruity whites and classic reds, that are produced with the motto: “A great wine starts in the vineyard, and a great vineyard is set in a diverse and healthy ecological environment.” Explore their wines and buy on our online wine shop.

Château Les Croiselle

Situated in Southwest France, Château Les Croiselle is a family-run vineyard that was given a revamp when the next generation took the reins in 2010. With this came an expanded acreage and it was converted to organic viticulture. The Croisille family prioritise producing wines in harmony with the region’s unique terroir and have a strong focus on the details.

The star of the show? Malbec - the deep, inky coloured wine produced in Cahors, exhibits a distinctive varietal character with perfection. The wine is prized for its rich, powerful flavours, velvety tannins and natural acidity, which gives the wine a serious freshness kick. Ready to taste the magic? Dive into our online wine shop and buy one of their incredible Malbecs for less with our wine discount code.

If you’re feeling extra curious and fancy a soiree with Germain Croisille himself, then mark your calendars for our exciting Meet the Winemaker Supper Club on the 26th and 27th March. A London wine tasting like no other, grab your tickets and join us for a night of sipping wine and spilling winery secrets!
