We’ve pulled together a list of wonderful, yet affordable things to do in London to help revive you this new year.

Of course, we couldn’t go any further without mentioning our renowned Wine 1-0-1 wine tastings hosted in our London wine bars. The perfect playground for beginners to try their hand at sipping and swirling; you’ll not only grasp the basics but also revel in an evening of grape fun!

For just £11 you can experience a 45-minute tasting with one of our wine gurus, and you’ll even get a tenner back as a voucher on the night, so you can splash it at any of our London wine bars afterwards. That means you could get two great evenings for the price of one – talk about affordable!

January’s Wine 1-0-1 theme is focused on blind wine tasting. we’ll be letting guests’ senses lead the way as they try their hand at sniffing and sipping with their eyes closed! Tickets sold out quick for this one but you haven’t missed out, we host our themed Wine 1-0-1 tastings every month. 

February is here to pop, fizz, and sparkle through the winter blues with a celebration of bubbles galore! We’re talking Prosecco, Champagne, the lot. Who needs sunshine when you’ve got bubbly to brighten these dark nights? And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, March steps in with an eco-friendly twist! If your New Year’s resolution is to be more sustainable, grab your tickets now for a deep dive into the world of organic and biodynamic wines. You know we won’t be humble about how incredible these ones are!

If none of that is your cup of tea (er, glass of wine?), then pop along to one of our London wine bars for dinner and drinks instead. We currently have a January offer running that you can take advantage of - three sharing plates for two people and a flight of four wines each for £30 per person (just quote ‘Humble January’ in your booking notes). Affordable things to do in London this new year

  1. Take a ride on the IFS Cloud Cable Car

Only one stop on the Jubilee line from our Canary Wharf wine bar, you can head to Greenwich, where you’ll find the infamous IFS Cloud Cable Car. Jump on board for just £5 and see some stellar views of the River Thames. The perfect opportunity to wrap up, settle in, and enjoy the ride. 

2. Laugh the night away with a free drink at City Comedy Club, Shoreditch

City Comedy Club loves to help you have a good time, and on select shows, they are offering a free drink with your comedy ticket (which costs between £5 and £10). You’ll get to see some of the best up-and-coming comedians, and it’s just 10 minutes from Liverpool Street; grab some incredible food at our Liverpool Street wine bar before, and then head to the comedy club to finish the night off strong. 

3. Learn some London history at the London Canal Museum 

We all know that London is bursting with historical significance, so for just a fiver, learn about the story of London’s canals at the London Canal Museum. With your new appreciation of London’s waters, you can then take a stroll along Regent’s Canal to our wine bar in Islington to really make a day of it. 

4. See a free exhibition at the Barbican Centre

The Barbican is always hosting free exhibitions throughout the year for you to learn something new. Most recently their conservatory has taken the city by storm; the second biggest conservatory in London, you can completely immerse yourself in nature. Afterwards, it’s a 25-minute walk, or jump on a bus to Humble Grape Fleet Street to re-acclimatise to city life again. 

5. Hop on a Santander bike and ride around Battersea Park

The Santander bikes around London are one of the best things to do in London. At £1.65 for 30 minutes, why not take a beautiful ride around Battersea Park and along the River Thames for some awe-inducing views? Then quench your thirst with a glass of the good stuff at Humble Grape Battersea wine bar. 

6. Bring out your inner kid at Rowans, Finsbury Park

With entry only costing a few quid, Rowans has bowling, karaoke, pool, and arcade games –it’s the perfect place to have fun on a budget! Located in Finsbury Park, you can then head to our cosy Crouch End wine bar to finish the night in style.
