“Two families, both alike in dignity.”
In 1965 Mariette Allimant married René Laugner, and two wine-growing families with a stunning pedigree were joined. Their separate heritage goes back to Nicolas Allimant (born in 1650) and Nicolas Laugner (born in 1589).
Alsace winemaking has coped with a lot in the last century or so – disease, foreign species run wild, two devastating world wars – but 300+ years of family knowledge can overcome even the most formidable of obstacles.
