Pop, fizz, clink, cheer.
Bernard Lonclas says the first sound he remembers is the cork popping from the bottle that toasted his birth. Bit sceptical? It’s not meant literally. What Bernard is saying, with typically French symbolism, is that he was born and raised in the Champagne region and making champagne is more than a trade: it’s his calling, his lifeblood.
He says the ultimate pleasure is to hear how much people enjoy his cuvées, which is great, because when you taste either of the Champagnes we have you’ll probably want his number.
