Vina Alicia Malbec
Product Description
Across two separate vineyards in Lujan de Cuyo, Alicia describes her plots
as ‘among the most wanted land in the world.’ The climate is Mediterranean, the
rain scarce and the soil sandy - pretty much perfect for growing vines and making
great wine.
100% Malbec grapes from 150-year-old vines, located at 1,300 meters above
sea level. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels. After
barrel ageing in the same French oak barrels for 12 months, the wine is bottled
and rested for a further 12 months.
Less than 3,000 bottles of this wine have been produced and Robert Parker
awarded this special wine 93 points.
Viña Alicia’s winemaking is superb, with the utmost attention to every detail
and no expenses spared. The costly practice of fermentation in first-use oak
barrels provides the wine with a huge amount of complexity and roundedness. A
masterpiece from a great winemaker!
