The vineyard of Bourgueil, classified AOC by decree of 31 July 1937 is located west of Tours on the right bank of the Loire. It covers 7 communes in the department of Indre-et-Loire:
Soil types are spread over three levels: rocky islands emerging from the most recent alluvial, sandy-gravelly high terraces and limestone backed by forests.
Manual harvesting of old vines on clay and limestone soils. Traditional vinification with maceration for several weeks.
