No trip to the Barossa would be complete without a stop in to ‘Charlies’ for a sip of the new vintage Nine Popes. A blend of dry grown bush vine Grenache planted in 1947 and Shiraz matured in seasoned French casks complimented by a dash of old vine Mourvedre. The winery championed out of fashion varieties Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre in the 1980’s. Today Nine Popes is firmly established as the benchmark southern Rhone style. 50% Shiraz/46 % Grenache & 4% Mourvedre.
