Weekly Wine & Food Pairing

Pukka Paki's Vegetable Biryani with Humble Grape's Domaine des Marechaux Rosé 2011!

Domaine des Marechaux Rosé 2011 a rubust rosé wine from Bordeaux. Rosé is a beautiful match with the zingy lemon, seductive Saffron and other whole garam maslalas. But perhaps most gratuitous will be the garnish of rose petals, coriander leaves, pistachios and pomegranate seeds - beautiful with this versatile food wine. Who says you can't have rosé in winter?!?

And if you missed last week's pairing, here it is again:

Pukka Paki's Rosemary, Chilli & Saffron Turkey Tikkas  with Humble Grape's Les Trois Quartiers Chinon!

This Chinon by Philippe Pichard displays gorgeous garrigue notes and fresh cherries on the nose, with mineral notes which extend to the palate, light in tannin and fresh ... so would compliment rosemary in the Tikka, yet not overpower the bird!

A country which gets too much negative publicity but here is my chance to highlight the beauty of our people, food and the simplicity of life through the love of food and the fond memories it leaves forever in your heart.”
